3v3 Lab

At Joy of the People  we prioritize the development of young athletes through small sided play. This method of play allows players to learn and develop the play fluency, a way to create many more avenues to success: creativity, problem solving, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of tactics.

Each session your player will form a team led by and experienced Player/leader--all who have many many years of play experience, to crate a  fun and positive environment, we provide a unique and effective approach to youth sport development.

WHY?

The 3v3 lab program focuses on a more holistic and scientifically-backed approach to soccer skill development compared to traditional methods. Here are some reasons why a young soccer player should consider this program:

1. Neuroplasticity: The Play Skills program capitalizes on the concept of neuroplasticity, which refers to the brain's ability to reorganize and form new neural connections throughout life. It recognizes that skill acquisition and motor system development go hand in hand, and focuses on optimizing neural pathways for better skill execution.

2. Motor learning principles: The Play Skills program incorporates principles of motor learning, such as practicing in variable and game-like situations, providing immediate feedback, and challenging the learner effectively. This approach enhances motor skill acquisition and transfer to actual game situations.

3. Cognitive development: The program recognizes the importance of cognitive skills, such as decision-making, anticipation, and spatial awareness, in soccer performance. It includes cognitive training exercises that help young players develop these skills, ultimately improving their on-field performance.

4. Ecological approach: The Play Skills program adopts an ecological approach to skill development, considering the complex interaction between the player, the task, and the environment. It emphasizes training in realistic and representative soccer scenarios to enhance skill transfer and adaptation to different game situations.

5. Long-term development: Rather than focusing solely on short-term gains, the Play Skills program prioritizes long-term player development. It recognizes that individual players progress at different rates and emphasizes a player-centered approach, allowing each player to develop at their own pace while continuously challenging them to improve.

6. Enjoyment and engagement: The program aims to make skill acquisition enjoyable and engaging for young players. By incorporating game-like activities, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, and promoting autonomy and creativity, the program fosters a lifelong love for the game while facilitating skill development.

Overall, the Play Skills acquisition program is founded on scientific principles and practices that optimize skill acquisition, cognitive development, and long-term player growth. It offers a more comprehensive and evidence-based alternative to traditional methods, making it an attractive option for young soccer players looking to reach their full potential.
